Yerevan―The Heritage Party convened its Eleventh National Congress at the Best Western Congress Hotel here on June 25 with a solemn rendering of the Armenian national anthem amid the participation of 187 delegates from across the Republic, as well as guests from different political parties and civil society representatives.

Yerevan—Upon the invitation of United States Ambassador Richard Mills, today Raffi K. Hovannisian paid an official visit to the US Embassy here.

Mills and Hovannisian discussed a broad array of matters relating to American-Armenian relations, regional security, and pressing global developments.

Raffi Hovannisian, Armenia's first Minister of Foreign Affairs, chairs the Heritage Party and serves as founding director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies.

Overshadowed by violence and political persecutions—and marred by rampant bribery and falsification—the recent parliamentary elections demonstrated yet again the ruling party’s incapacity to organize free, fair and legal elections.

Today the former Minister of Defence of NKR, the army commander of Liberation Army, Hero of Artsakh, lieutenant general Samvel Babayan was detained by National Security Service. The measures taken by the government were predictable. The obvious provocation organized against the "Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanyan" alliance, as well as the massive pressures against the headquarters and the Parliament candidates were sought to spread an atmosphere of fear and hinder our work.
